To celebrate 55 years of the Porsche Club of America (PCA), the largest single-brand car club in the world (100.000 + members), Swiss luxury watchmaker Tag Heuer released a limited edition Monaco timepiece this year. This amazing timepiece is limited to only 55 pieces and carries a tag of a sky-high price of $5500. They will be available to PCA members only and your PCA number must be specified when ordering.
The Tag Heuer Monaco PCA Limited Edition features a red rally stripe running from top to bottom of its square black dial. The Stripe unevenly divides the dial face into two parts with its left edge going right through the watch’s center of gravity. Under the blue-red-white color theme, the square dial looks more classy and elegant. There is a pair of square subdials located at 3 o’clock and 9 o’clock respectively, adding a little more balance sense. Above the small calendar at 6 o’clock position lies the “55” racing –style number. It is very symbolic-PCA’ 55th anniversary, 55 limited number and the $5500 price.
The case back of the timepiece has a round transparent sapphire crystal display glass engraved with the red PCA logo. The engraving greatly obstructs the view of the calibre 12 automatic movement with 28.800 vph and 42 hours power reserve. Based on the Dubois Depraz 2008 the movement provides hours, minutes, seconds, date and chronograph functions.
The unique and rare timepiece is secured to the wrist by a special black leather strap with racing holes and red stitching that is not available at retail.
