Breitling has added a new model to the Avenger line, which is called Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel. The new watch is the world’s first chronograph watch that was built to operate at depth up to 1000m.
To withstand the enormous pressure of salty water, the new watch features not only thick layer of glare-proof sapphire crystal, but also has its heroically proportioned 45.4mm stainless steel case subjected to carbon diffusion treatment making it both harder and more scratch resistant. What’ s more, to make the chronograph to be functional to a depth of 1000m. The Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel’ pushers use a magnetic system to active the chronograph rather than relying on relying a physical connection between the pusher and the chronograph system inside the watch.
The Breitling Avenger Seawolf Chrono Blacksteel is powered by the SuperQuartz movement Caliber 73, based on ETA Thermoline 251.232 and certified by COSC. The SuperQuartz movement is about 10 times more accurate than standard quartz movements and is capable of running for 2-3 years before the original battery will run off its juice. Such a powerful and high-tech movement is very serviceable with hours, minutes, seconds, date and chronograph functions.
