Before I start the topic I have to make a statement that I am not good at photography, but I do figure out some tricks since I have to take pictures of watch movement and components almost everyday. As we all know watch components are pretty small, so taking good pictures of them do need some skills.
(1) Before taking pictures you must adjust your camera by choosing the finest grade level.
(2) It must be micro distance. When necessary you should cover the lens with magnifying glass. The pixel of the camera preferably starts at 12 million.
(3) The light in the place where take the picture counts a lot, and strong sunlight serves as the bad influence here.Energy-saving lamps or daylight lamp will be better light source than incandescent lamps or frosted bulb. There should be at least 2 light sources, primary light and secondary light are the basic light sources.
(4) Good angle and stability. Generally, in the natural light indoor, you should take pictures in 45 degree. In order to avoid reflection, sometimes I will turn down the roof lamp of the room.
(5) A box of soft light is needed. You can DIY as I do. Mine is converted from plastic bucket of 2L pure water( see the picture). This is an effective way to reduce reflection and uniform brightness.
